Our investors, owners and supporters

Being a Public-Private Partnership, Abler Nordic (formerly NMI) has an unique and robust investor base: Norfund and IFU (Norwegian and Danish governmental funds for developing countries; approximately 1/4 each of the latest fund and private sector institutions (DNB Livsforsikring, Ferd, KLP, Lauritzen Fonden, PBU, Storebrand ,TD Veen and Koldingvej 2, Billund A/S). The majority of our investor base is recurring investors from previous funds. In addition, the Norwegian Ministry of Climate and Environment has invested ~10 million USD in a Climate Smart Fund set up by NMI.

Since its inception in 2008, Abler Nordic has launched five funds: Global, Frontier, Fund III, Fund IV, and Climate Smart Fund.

The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Norad, the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation, are highly important supporters and partners. Abler Nordic offers competence building for local MFIs through NMI's Technical Assistance Facility, sponsored by Norad and hedging through NMI's Foreign Exchange Loss Facility, sponsored by Norfund. DLA Piper Norway provides pro bono legal advice.

Abler Nordic was established in 2008 in Oslo, Norway as a partnership between the public sector and private investors. Abler Nordic invests in institutions building financial inclusion in Africa and Asia.
