The launch event of North East Small Finance Bank (NESFB) took place in Guwahati, India. The event was very well organized and graced by Mr. Ratan Tata (Chairman - Tata Trust) and the Finance Minister of Assam – Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. The Bank launched the first 28 branches and presented the first debit card to the client. There was representation from peer co-investors, Board members, staff, clients, other banks and stakeholders in the financial services and media. Nordic Microfinance Initiative Fund III has an equity investment in NESFB and has been supporting their transformation to become a Small Finance Bank.
